Whipps Cross University Hospital has been rated inadequate by the Care Quality Commission.

The inspection report, released today, uncovered areas of major concern. Some of the key findings were:

  • Not enough nursing and medical staff to ensure safe care was provided

  • A culture of bullying and harassment

  • The use of national clinical guidelines was not evident throughout the majority of services

  • Inadequacies were found in general medical care, end of life care, urgent and emergency care, and services for children
