Whipps Cross University Hospital has been rated inadequate by the Care Quality Commission.
The inspection report, released today, uncovered areas of major concern. Some of the key findings were:
Not enough nursing and medical staff to ensure safe care was provided
A culture of bullying and harassment
The use of national clinical guidelines was not evident throughout the majority of services
Inadequacies were found in general medical care, end of life care, urgent and emergency care, and services for children
A statement from Barts Health Trust confirms it has now been placed into special measures by the NHS Trust Development Authority.
