Whitton postcode victory could see house prices soar

What's in a postcode? Apparently a lot when it's a question of leafy Richmond versus urban Hounslow. The residents of Whitton aren't happy.

Royal Mail have proposed to add Whitton to their postcode address file. That means the town will be officially recognised on letters.

Residents beleive it will help associate the area with the more affluent Richmond-upon-Thames.

Residents pay their council tax to Richmond borough. Some also say the Houslow tag has an adverse effect on house prices.
