A 73-year-old great-grandmother was shot last night at point blank range in her home in East Ham by a hooded man at the window.

Lilian Dudhill has spoken to ITV News about her ordeal, she'd been sitting watching TV when there was a knock at the door. Police believe the suspect was searching for her grandson, but he left more than just a message.

Lilian was lucky to escape with a minor injury to her hand, after the unidentified man shot her as she held back the curtain to talk to him.

She said: "I was sitting there watching the telly, you hear a bang on your door - I've come to curtain pulled it apart to see who was there."

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed this wasn't a random attack, but say they don't believe Lilian was the intended target.

Lilian says enjoying an evening in front of television at home - will never the same again.
