Tory MP admits taking a 'wrong turn' after canvassing in the wrong constituency
A Tory MP and his team who went door-to-door campaigning in the wrong wrong constituency only realised their mistake - when they knocked on the door of a Labour rival.
Enfield Southgate MP David Burrowes stepped out of bounds when he went canvassing last week, and ended up on a street in the constituency belonging to Labour rival Andy Love.
Mr Burrowes was spotted in Bush Hill Park in Enfield, north London, which is actually part of the Edmonton constituency.
The mistake was only spotted when one of his team knocked on the door of Ruth Rosenthal - Mr Love's wife.
The Tory team are thought to have strayed around half a mile from his 'patch', which he has held since 2005, onto territory which has been presided over by Mr Love since 1997.
David Burrowes blamed canvassing for votes outside his constituency on his phone.
