Fire crew saves a horse named Snoopy trapped up to its neck in a bog
Firemen battled to save a horse named Snoopy today who got stuck in a bog.
Snoopy got into difficulty when he wandered up to his neck in marshy water.
But the London Fire Brigade were quick to the rescue when they were called about the stricken horse and brought in heavy duty lifting equipment to try to free him from the bog, near Erith in south east London.
The fire crews spent about three hours working before finally freeing the big horse, who stands a whopping 14 hands high.
The force live-tweeted pictures of the dramatic rescue, sometimes with hilarious captions.
