Husband who admitted beheading his wife at the home they shared with their children faces life behind bars
A husband faces life behind bars after he admitted decapitating his wife. 42-year-old Naveed Ahmed initially denied murdering Tahira Ahmed.
The 38-year-old mother of two was beheaded in the attack at their home in Northolt, in West London on May 27 last year.
When Ahmed first appeared before the Old Bailey via video link from prison he pleaded not guilty but he later changed his plea and admitted the chargePolice found Mrs Ahmed's body with injuries to the head and neck.
Her husband was found in an alleyway nearby sweating profusely, with blood on his clothes.
At the time the couple's neighbours spoke of a 'lovely couple' who 'always looked very happy together'.
But around the time of the murder a row was apparently heard at the house and Mr Ahmed was seen taking his children away from the property and returning alone.
Sentencing is expected to take place this afternoon.
