A court found him not guilty of murder, but the last 24 hours have been a roller coaster of emotion for Myles Litchmore-Dunbar.
Huge relief because after 15 months behind bars for a crime he has always maintained he did not commit he has finally been cleared. But frustration he is still in custody.
The wheels of the Greek legal system are turning incredibly slowly in Crete.
Myles has been transferred from the court in Neapoli, to the police station in Agios Nikolas and is now on his way back to Athens and the Avlona detention centre where he was held for most of the time he has been on remand.
Legal protocol means he has to be released from the institution which had responsibility for him and has his paperwork.
He will now not walk free until tomorrow.
Myles was found guilty of affray and given 3 years probation. His lawyer has already lodged an appeal against this verdict.
Co-accused Dejon Anaghue was found guilty of affray, possessing a knife and intent to use a knife.
A full time student, Myles was accused of the murder of teenager Tyrell Matthews Burton, who was stabbed to death in Malia as he celebrated his 19th birthday.
The dead boy's aunt who was in court with his mother to hear the verdict said they plan to appeal.
The case file has now been sent to the Greek Supreme court who will decide if there is enough evidence to charge anyone else.
