London man facing trial for murder on Greek island
A youngster from south-east London stands trial in Greece today for the murder of a London teenager on the island of Crete.
Myles Litchmore-Dunbar, from Lewisham, is accused of the murder of Tyrell Matthews-Burton during a nightclub brawl in July 2013.
His family insist he is innocent and have raised questions about the murder investigation by Greek authorities.
Matthews-Burton's mother and aunts arrived at the Agios Nikoloas court house in Greece this morning to hear the case.
Litchmore-Dunbar travelled to Crete on holiday in the summer of 2013 and was among some 30 youngsters involved in a brawl outside a nightclub in Malia.
He has maintained that he was trying to break up the fight, but authorities accuse him of stabbing Matthews-Burton.
Litchmore-Dunbar, who has spent more than a year in a Greek prison awaiting trial, was led into the court house in handcuffs.
