Passenger punched repeatedly in the face on packed train

A passenger was left badly bruised after being punched repeatedly in the face on a packed train heading out of Liverpool Street.

The 26-year-old victim started talking to another passenger, who suddenly took offence at something said. He then stood up and punched the man several times directly in the face.

The victim got off the train at Shenfield in Essex, but the man who assaulted him stayed on the train and is thought to have got off at Ingatestone, Chelmsford, Witham or Colchester stations.
