Boris insists underused cable car is a 'howling success'
London mayor Boris Johnson faced embarrassing questions today about his controversial Thames cable car today.
The mayor was left red-faced when he admitted he did not know the cost of a single fare or what time it closes.
Boris Johnson was hosting his monthly radio phone-in show from a gondola on London talk station LBC.
LBC claimed just 44 passengers used the Emirates Airline over 2.5 hours during this morning's rush hour.
Boris Johnson said the cable car was carrying around 30,000 passengers a week and playing a vital role in boosting regeneration in east London.
