London vicar receives Queen's Birthday Honour
A vicar at St Ann's Church in Tottenham has today been appointed an MBE. The Reverend John Wood has been named in the Queen's Birthday Honours list for his work in the borough of Haringey following the 2011 riots.
The 56-year-old worked with police, community leaders and residents to help heal the relationship between the authorities and the community following the riots. He's also organised small youth groups to engage with young people in the area, while the church runs a counselling project in some of the local schools.
