Police have issued a warning to the public after a quantity of potentially lethal drugs were stolen from a van in Edmonton last night.

Two men, desribed as eastern European, raided the back of a van parked outside a pharmacy on Fore Street, Upper Edmonton, at 6.35pm.

The men subsequently drove off in a white Ford Transit van with the registration LA07 WUD.

Six blue plastic boxes containing 20 to 23 boxes of the drug and pre-filled syringes were stolen from the van.

Each box containing four syringes is valued at £1,100 and the estimated total value stolen is £151 000.

Officers have warned anyone who may come into contact with the drug not to take it as it may prove instantly fatal - especially if injected directly into the bloodstream.
