Campaign to stop London student's deportation

A headmistress who has campaigned to stop a student being deported, has criticised the way the Home Office has treated the teenager and her family. 19-year-old Yashika Bageerathi came to the UK three years ago from Mauritius and applied for asylum claiming she was in danger.

Earlier this week that claim was rejected and the Home Office said she'd be separated from her family and deported alone. But after a campaign to keep them together officials have reconsidered, and decided to deport the entire family. Our Senior Correspondent Ronke Phillips has the full story.

Yashika Bageerathi's classmates have been campaigning to stop her deportation, and a petition by students at Oasis Academy Hadley in Enfield has gained over 43,000 signatures
