The British Museum is opening its doors to the first major Viking exhibition in more than three decades. The display features new archaeological discoveries along with objects never seen before in the UK.

Among them is the ship known as Roskilde 6. It was excavated from the banks of Roskilde fjord in Denmark.

The timbers have been painstakingly conserved and the surviving timbers - approximately 20% of the original ship - have been re-assembled.
