London's streets are full of fascinating stories from the past. And now, a mobile phone app allows anyone visiting the capital to glimpse the sights as never before, by combining past and present.

The app delves into the Museum of London's extensive collection of photographs and art, overlaying the hustle and bustle of London streets with how they looked decades ago.

Users can see first-hand the fascinating hidden histories of the capital while traversing its streets, and walk side-by-side with inhabitants from years gone by.

By using the "3D view" button, the app will recognise your location and overlay the historic image over the current view - augmenting the reality that the smartphone camera perceives.

The Streetmuseum app was originally launched in 2010. This update includes 103 new photos to allow user to build up a better picture of how the capital has changed over the last 100 years.
