Leap of generosity helps girl reach fundraising target
In the end it took a giant leap of generosity. For the last few days ITV News London has been following the story of a five-year-old girl called Matilda Duncan.
She has cerebral palsy. But she can have an operation to make her walk unaided. However the operation costs £40,000.
Her best friend Casey Burke also has cerebral palsy but is not eligible to have the same operation as her condition is too severe. But she started fundraising for her friend. Before our broadcast, they had raised £17,000 on this site.
The next morning donations rose to £27,000. And now, they have surpassed their target thanks to a donation of £9,000.
Matilda's wants to be able to dance. Now this ballerina's dream is one step closer.
