Will today be the warmest of the year so far?

At last, the warm weather seems to have been timed perfectly for Bank Holiday Monday. We’ve got a slightly cloudier afternoon than the glorious sunshine this morning but very pleasant temperatures.

The current record for the warmest day of 2013 was set on the 25th of April and stands at 23C in St James' Park. Today we’re unlikely to see it get hotter than 22C but there is the chance it could just nudge past the record. If it doesn’t, there’s a second chance tomorrow with similar temperatures forecast. It will be a bit cloudier tomorrow afternoon than it is today with the risk of a few showers up to the north of London but still plenty of sunshine and a warm up flow coming up from the south east.

Sadly things turn more unsettled on Wednesday and Thursday with the breeze picking up and some rain around. But for now let’s enjoy the sunshine and fire up the BBQ!

See you later,

Martin
