The number of houses sold in London has reached its highest level for over two years, according to the latest RICS housing survey.

It found that chartered surveyors sold an average of 13 homes each in the three months to February. What's more, the survey's respondents predict the number of deals will continue to rise over the next three months.

RICS also said that their survey found that house prices are continuing to rise and the Government's Funding for Lending scheme could be slowly encouraging would-be buyers to look for properties. However, RICS warned that the housing market is still well down on the levels that it reached before the financial crisis.
