Paralympic hopeful meets hero Pistorius
Pollyanna Hope met Oscar Pistorius on 8th September just after he won gold in the T44 400 metres with a time of 46.68 seconds, breaking the Paralympic record.
Pollyanna's mother Sarah Hope and her twin-sister Victoria carried the Paralympic torch in Hackney.
They were watched by Pollyanna, who hopes to compete in the Paralympics herself one day as a showjumper.
The seven-year-old lost the lower half of her right leg five years ago, in an accident which killed her grandmother, after a bus hit them in Mortlake in West London.
Sarah runs a charity called Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope which supports vulnerable amputees across the world, through providing low-cost prosthetics, vital operations, educational, social and psychological assistance.
