Rock veteran Alice Cooper was a surprise guest on stage for West End hit Rock Of Ages The Musical last night.

The US singer made his one-off appearance to mark the 40th anniversary of his hit single School's Out topping the chart in the UK.

He and his band's outrageous performances at the time led clean-up campaigner Mary Whitehouse to call for the video to be banned while one MP tried to stop him appearing in the UK.

Cooper joined cast members including Shayne Ward - who plays Stacee Jaxx - for the performance at the Shaftesbury Theatre.
