Exclusive: Cheryl on fastest-selling single of the year
Cheryl Cole has told ITV London Tonight that achieving the fastest-selling single of the year with Call My Name was "surreal".
The singer sold 152,000 copies of her track in its first week of release to reach number one, ending the two-week reign of Diamond Jubilee anthem Sing by Gary Barlow and his Commonwealth Band.
Cheryl - who has lived in Surrey and Bow - said:
"He sent me a tweet saying 'massive congratulations', so we're big supporters of each other," the singer said of the Take That star.
Talking about her forthcoming tour, Cheryl said she was "going all out."
"I love visuals. I love big dances, lights, fireworks - all that stuff. Being on stage is the best feeling ever."
Cheryl also settled the issue of her name, denying rumours that she has dropped her ex-husband Ashley's surname.
"It's just Cheryl on the artwork for A Million Lights. It's a new era, new music, new artwork. On Twitter, I'm still Cheryl Cole. On my passport, I'm still Cheryl Cole."
Call My Name, written and produced by Calvin Harris, is the Girls Aloud star's first single under the name of simply Cheryl and marks her third solo number-one single - after Fight For This Love and Promise This.
