McCartney booked for Olympic opening ceremony
Sir Paul McCartney has confirmed that he will be performing at the opening ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics.
The former Beatle had revealed in January that he was in talks about taking part, but only now has he confirmed that he's officially "booked".
He told BBC Radio 5 Live Drive that he would perform at the close of the opening ceremony.
A total cast of 15,000 will take part in the Olympic and Paralympic opening and closing ceremonies, which will be watched by an estimated worldwide audience of four billion people.
The full line-up of the opening ceremony on July 27 has yet to be announced.
