Londoners who have missed out on tickets for the Olympics will be able to watch the action in a dedicated spectator area at the Olympic Park.

The London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) has released images of what could be the Olympic version of Wimbledon's "Henman Hill".

It's already been dubbed "Hoy Hill", after the Olympic cycling champion Sir Chris Hoy.

A giant double-sided screen, the height of three double-decker buses, will be built in the middle of the River Lea, broadcasting live coverage of the Games to up to 10,000 sports fans.

LOCOG Chair Seb Coe said: "Whether it’s 'Halsall Hill', 'Pistorious Park' or 'Dai Greene Fields' our plans for Park Live will create a green and colourful place for fans to cheer their heroes and soak up the Olympic Park atmosphere. With lush lawns surrounded by wildflower meadows and rustling reeds, a trip to Park Live will be a truly unforgettable experience."
