Man charged over Tottenham Court Road siege

A man's been charged over the three-hour siege that brought Tottenham Court Road to a stand-still on Friday.

Armed police were called out, after reports that a man had stormed an office block, allegedly making threats and carrying a weapon.

Michael Green, 48, of Stevenage, Hertfordshire, has been charged with a series of offences:

  • Possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid/gas or electrical incapacitating device

  • False imprisonment

  • Making a bomb hoax

  • Causing criminal damage recklessly endangering life.
