Police have charged a 25-year-old man with the murder of a father-of-two outside a promotional party on London's Southbank attended by singer Jessie J earlier this month.

Phillip Sheriff, who was 37 and from Lancashire, was attacked with a broken bottle outside the Pulse nightclub on April 4th.

Mr Sherriff, who was a telecommunications professional, died from his injuries in hospital four days later.

25-year-old Ashley Charles, from Leicester, was initially charged with attempted murder, but today the charge has been changed to murder.

He's due to appear in Bromley Magistrates Court on April 25th.

The event was organised by mobile phone brand Blackberry, with Jessie J performing inside.
