Patient contracts Hepatitis C

Fatima Abdul Hussein went into hospital to give birth - little knowing she would come out with life-threatening Hepatitis C. At first the hospital blamed her - claiming she must have caught the infection elsewhere.In fact, its now been confirmed, Fatima was infected while she was in labour.

A midwife treating her had been diagnosed with the disease in 2004 but had told no-one.Fatima agreed to tell her story to 'London Tonight', worried that other mothers may have been infected and concerned the hospital was trying to cover up what happened.Our Health Correspondent Liz Wickham has this exclusive report.
