Thousands compete in Greater Manchester Marathon and raise thousands for charity
Around 20,000 runners have pounded the streets this morning in the Greater Manchester Marathon.
Aaron Richmond won the race with an incredible time of 2:21:30 - a personal best.
Jenny Spink was the winner of the women’s race today, exact time to be confirmed but thought to be around 2:35:00
The race has three official charity partners - Cancer Research UK, Alzheimers and JustGiving - but runners will be raising thousands for their own charities too.
This year's route takes the race to Altrincham and back - on the flattest and fastest marathon course in the country.
Greater Manchester's Mayor Andy Burnham ran half the marathon in preparation for taking part in the Boston Marathon in April.
He's raising funds for charities set up by some of the families who lost loved-ones in the 2017 Manchester Arena attack.
This bride managed to finish the race in 4 hours 15 minutes complete with her dress and veil.
British Red Cross and other first aiders helped several runners who were exhausted at the end of the race.
