Around 20,000 runners have pounded the streets this morning in the Greater Manchester Marathon.

Aaron Richmond won the race with an incredible time of 2:21:30 - a personal best.

Jenny Spink was the winner of the women’s race today, exact time to be confirmed but thought to be around 2:35:00

The race has three official charity partners - Cancer Research UK, Alzheimers and JustGiving - but runners will be raising thousands for their own charities too.

This year's route takes the race to Altrincham and back - on the flattest and fastest marathon course in the country.
