Smoke warnings as crews fight timber yard fire near Wigan

Eight fire engines are at the scene of a timber yard fire in Wigan.

It's at the Park Lane Industrial Estate.

Firefighters say they are making good progress to bring it under control, but have closed a section of the A49 Warrington Road roundabout because of smoke.

Highways England have closed the northbound slip road at Junction 25 of the M6 motorway.

People are being advised to keep doors and windows shut because of smoke.
