Warning to stay indoors and keep windows closed after large fire in Manchester
Fifty firefighters are at the scene of a huge fire in a commercial building in Ardwick sending smoke across Manchester City Centre tonight.
Reports suggest the fire started in a building near the 02 Apollo. These pictures were taken nearby by Granada Reports production specialist Simon McKnight.
Manchester Fire Service say 8 fire engines from across Manchester, Salford and Stockport are tackling the blaze on Hyde Road in Ardwick.
Residents are asked to avoid the area and keep windows and doors shut. They said they will issue more information when they have it from the scene and said 'our firefighters are working hard'.
