Two arrested after armed police called to 'firearms incident'
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences after police swooped on a street in Stalybridge.
A photograph showed the moment armed police descended on Mottram Road on Sunday evening.
Police were called to reports of a firearms incident inside a property at around 6.30pm. The incident in question is understood to have happened around an hour before.
Two men were later detained on suspicion of firearms offences and remain in police custody for questioning.
Officers investigating confirmed that no shots had been fired and that no one was hurt.
A gun or firearm was not recovered at the scene, police said.
