Plans for Liverpool victory parade should they win the Champions League final
A victory parade through Liverpool will happen if the Reds are victorious in next week's Champions League final.
If Jurgen Klopp's team triumph in Kiev on Saturday May 26, Liverpool City Council will formally invite the club to hold a parade in the city on the following day - a date requested by bosses at Anfield.
Because of the major logistical challenges needed to arrange a parade of this scale, an announcement is being made ahead of the final, which will see the Reds take on Real Madrid.
The potential parade will take place when Liverpool is already staging two major events - Three Festivals Tall Ships Regatta and the Bordeaux Wine Festival - which alone are expected to attract tens of thousands of people to the waterfront.
If Liverpool are successful in Kiev, it will start from midday on May 27, last for a couple of hours and see the Liverpool FC team parade the Champions League trophy on an open top bus, travelling along Liverpool’s UNESCO World Heritage Waterfront.
