60 years on: remembering the victims of the Winter Hill plane crash
Commemorations are taking place to mark 60 years since 35 people lost their lives in the Winter Hill air disaster.
A plane travelling from the Isle of Man to Manchester came down in bad weather on the moors near Bolton in 1958.
35 of the passengers were killed, many of whom were connected with the Isle of Man motor trade, and on their way to a car show.
The three crew were among the seven that survived with injuries.
The people of Horwich were praised at the time for helping with the rescue efforts.
