An 8ft bronze statue of suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst will be unveiled in Manchester city centre next year.

It's the first statue of a woman to go up in the city in more than a century and it will be partly funded by the Government.

Pankhurst, who was born in Moss Side, helped pave the way for women voters, a hundred years ago this week.
