Liverpool bids to host World Gymnastics

Liverpool is bidding to host the World Gymnastic Championships in 2022.

The bid is the combined work of the city council, UK Sport and British Gymnastics and will go before the Federation of International Gymnastics.

If Liverpool succeeds, the championships will bring 700 gymnasts to the city from across the globe for 10 days of competition. It would be the biggest international sporting event ever held at the Echo Arena.
