Fourteen thousand music fans flocked to Manchester Arena last night for its official reopening after May's terror attack.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds were the headline act, with other local stars like the Courteeners and Rick Astley on the bill. Peter Kay made a surprise appearance at the venue where he started his career, working as a steward.

The Oasis song 'Don't Look Back in Anger' was a highlight of the show. It became a symbol of the spirit of Manchester in the aftermath of the attack.
