Six taken to hospital as derelict pub collapses

Lancashire Fire Service say six people were taken to hospital after a derelict building collapsed in Blackburn.

It's believed a group of children had been playing at the former Duke of Edinburgh pub on the corner of Hill Street and Crabtree Street.

Ace the rescue dog helps with efforts at collapsed pub in Blackburn

Ace the rescue dog is helping the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service search the collapsed building in Blackburn.

Ace's handler, Mike Dewar, Tweeted a picture of Ace amongst the rubble and ruins of the Duke of Edinburgh pub on the corner of Hill Street and Crabtree Street in Blackburn.

It's believed a group of children had been playing at the former Duke of Edinburgh pub on the corner of Hill Street and Crabtree Street.

Firefighters from Blackburn, Great Harwood, Darwen, Bamber Bridge and Chorley were called to the incident as well as specialist rescue equipment and search and rescue dogs from Lancashire and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.
