A dog attack which killed a man in Preston was a "tragic accident", according to police. Liam Hewitson was mauled by his own pit-bull cross breed on New Year's Day. The 22-year-old was suffering an epileptic fit when the animal turned on him.
Officers say Liam suffered "significant injuries" to his face and neck. The dog, called "Trigger", was not a banned breed, say officials. Liam had owned the dog since it was born. It has now been destroyed.
