Christmas flooding: December storms bring misery to North West

Communities across the North West have been hit severe flooding over Christmas and the New Year after a series of December storms wreaked havoc on the country. An RAF chinook helicopter has continued to drop sandbags to shore up flood defences in Croston village in Lancashire.

Residents have praised the great community spirit, after the local sports centre provided food and shelter for those forced out of their homes.
