Thankful to be alive. Matthew thanks doctors who saved his life after holiday went tragically wrong.

It was a family holiday that went tragically wrong but Matthew Parkes says he's thankful to be alive. He picked up a common infection which had catastropic results and left him in a coma for two months.

Although life will never be the same again the young father from Bramhall in Cheshire is now starting to plan for the future.

In his first television interview since waking from the coma, he's been telling Elaine Willcox how grateful he is to the doctors who saved his life
