Stepping Hill nurse Victorino Chua has been convicted of murdering two patients - Tracey Arden and Derek Weaver - and poisoning dozens of others.
Victorino Chua, the nurse who was jailed for life after murdering two patients at Stepping Hill Hospital, will launch an appeal against his conviction.
He has maintained his innocence since being jailed last month and in a statement his lawyers from CM solicitors said:
"CM Solicitors would like to announce that we have today launched an appeal against conviction on behalf of our client Victorino Chua. Mr Chua maintains that he is innocent of any wrong doing."
