Thousands are expected to watch as three of the world's biggest cruise liners plan to sail in formation on the River Mersey.

Cunard's fleet of three Queens, including the Queen Mary 2 will perform a choreographed river dance. The event marks the company's 175th anniversary.

The Red Arrows will plan a fly past at lunchtime as the fleet completes its manoeuvres.

A firework display will end the spectacle, the culmination of a weekend of maritime exhibitions and events in the city.
