Former Wigan Warrior dies after falling from hotel balcony

A former Wigan Warriors rugby player has died after falling from a hotel balcony in Ibiza.

Luke Rhoden, 25, died in an ambulance after a tussle with police in San Antonio.

The Mirror reports a police source claimed he had been acting strangely, running around the Ibiza Rocks Hotel saying people wanted to kill him, before jumping from a first floor room last night.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We can confirm the death of a British national in Ibiza on 3 September.

“We are providing consular assistance to the family at this difficult time.”
