North West women call for public inquiry into pregnancy drug Primodos which they claim caused birth defects

There are calls for a public inquiry into a pregnancy drug which its claimed caused thousands of babies to suffer birth defects.

Primodos was a hormone pill prescribed to women in the 1960s and 70s to show if they were pregnant.

The makers deny it caused abnormalities.

But today alleged victims from the North West handed a petition into Downing Street calling for further investigation.
