The family of a student from Stockport, who has reportedly been sentenced to 20 years in an Iranian prison over comments she is alleged to have made on Facebook, are appealing her sentence.
Roya Saberi Negad Nobakht was visiting family in Shiraz when she was arrested six months ago on suspicion of plotting to commit crimes against security and insulting Islam.
The 47-year-old part-time student holds dual British and Iranian citizenship and has been living in Stockport with her husband for more than six years.
A source close to the family told ITV Granada that they will be appealing her sentence.
