On May the 7th 1964 an historic concert was filmed by Granada Television at the former Wilbraham Road train station in Chorlton. Muddy Waters and Sister Rosetta Tharpe were among the stars who performed in front of a live audience.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the event modern day blues bands will play on a tram and at Chorlton Metrolink stop.
Salford musician and author CP Lee will MC the event and explained why the concert in 1964 was about more than just the music.
