Blackpool FC chairman Karl Oyston calls in police over 'death threats'
The Blackpool FC chairman Karl Oyston has called in the police to investigate on-line death threats made against him and his family.
Mr Oyston has also instructed lawyers to begin taking action against supporters who have reportedly posted insulting messages which he claims have 'overstepped' the mark on fan forums.
The chairman and his family have been under fire from fans who claim the way they are managing the Championship side has left them in the relegation zone.
The posts followed Blackpool’s 1-0 defeat by Lancashire rivals Burnley on Good Friday, which saw fans halt the game as they threw tennis balls and tangerines onto the pitch
Oyston told his local newspaper, the Blackpool Gazette: ''Some of the threats are so unbelievable that I’ve got to do something about it.”
