Large fire at recycling plant in Salford
Residents in Salford are being warned to keep all windows and doors closed as a huge fire burns at recycling plant. Thousands of tonnes of waste paper caught fire at the firm on Duncan Street in Salford.
Train lines between Manchester and Liverpool closed due to Salford fire
There is disruption on the trains this morning due to the fire in Salford.
The services affected are:
- Northern Rail between Manchester Victoria & Newton-le-Willows
- First Transpennine Express between Manchester Piccadilly & Wigan North Western
- Arriva Trains Wales between Manchester Piccadilly & Warrington Bank Quay
- Disruption on Northern Rail between Manchester Victoria & Liverpool Lime Street
