Back in August we asked you to tell us about the extraordinary people in your community who make life better for those around them.
It was all part of ITV's search for a winner in the Local Hero section of the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards.
This week we'll be meeting some of the people you nominated.
On Friday we'll be revealing who our judging panel have chosen as the person nominated to go through to the awards, which are held next month in London on a night described as the most inspirational of the year.
We start with Trish O'Reilly who runs a dancing school in Liverpool. Miss Trish, as she's known to her students, has been at the centre of the community in Dovecot and Huyton for the past 25 years. Victoria Grimes went to meet her:
Valerie and Jack Baron have been scout leaders for almost 40 years. They run the Highfield Scout Group in Darwen, Lancashire.
Susan Cogley is a founder member of the dragon boat charity Paddlers for Life which is based on Windermere.
Charles Hamilton is 78 and from Stockport. He has been nominated for his work as a volunteer at Stepping Hill Hospital.
