A mother and her 10-year-old daughter died after being poisoned by carbon monoxide fumes as they slept on a moored boat on Windermere, according to the initial findings of a marine accident investigation.

A mother and her 10-year-old daughter have died while on a sailing trip on Windermere.

Police think Kelly Webster and Lauren Thornton from Leyland were poisoned by carbon monoxide fumes from a faulty generator.

Kelly's partner was airlifted to hospital and survived.
