Power failure on board Ocean Countess

The cruise ship Ocean Countess, which became the first liner to start its voyage from Liverpool's new cruise terminal yesterday, has been diverted to Anglesey after losing power overnight.

'Safety and comfort' of Ocean Countess passengers 'main priority'

Mr Bastow was speaking after the ship Ocean Countess lost power for three hours.

The 719 mainly British passengers left Liverpool for an eight-night Diamond Jubilee cruise to the Scottish Highlands and Islands yesterday.

Ocean Countess has been diverted to Hollyhead on Anglesey for 'precautionary checks'.
